What Magzinez is
A daily film and television magazine, and an honest account of how it is made.
Magzinez covers the business and gossip of film and television: the deals, the casting, the numbers, the campaigns, and the arguments behind them. We publish every day. We are independent and privately owned.
How this site is produced
We should be straightforward about this, because you deserve to know and because pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
Magzinez is produced with the help of an AI writing system, working under a fixed editorial style guide and a human editor. The process runs in three stages. First, a research stage reads what the established trade press has actually published and assembles a brief of verified facts, with sources. Second, a writing stage turns that brief into an article under one of our house bylines. Third, every draft is checked automatically against our editorial rules and sent back for revision if it fails them.
The system is not permitted to invent facts, invent quotes, or publish a story the research does not support. Where a brief is too thin to sustain a piece, the piece is spiked rather than padded. A human reviews what is published and can remove or correct anything at any time.
Our bylines are house bylines representing distinct editorial voices and beats. They are not claims to be separate real journalists. You can read about each of them on the masthead page.
Sourcing
We do not break news. We report on, contextualise and argue with reporting from the established trade press, and we link to them. Where a story originated with one outlet, we say so and we name them.
Every article lists the reporting it draws on at the foot of the page. If a claim is unconfirmed, we say it is unconfirmed. If two outlets disagree, we say that too.
What we will not publish
- Invented quotes, invented sources, or invented figures.
- Allegations about a person's conduct, health, sexuality, finances or private life that are not established, published fact, and even then only with clear attribution.
- Stories built on a single anonymous social media post.
- AI-generated images presented as photographs of real events or real people.
- Paid coverage disguised as editorial.
Corrections
We will get things wrong. When we do, we want to fix it quickly and say that we did. If you have found an error, email hello@magzinez.com with the URL and what is wrong, and we will look at it. Corrections are made on the article itself with a note.
If you are the subject of a piece and believe it is inaccurate or unfair, use the same address and mark it "urgent". We would rather hear from you than from your lawyer, and we will act on a legitimate complaint the same day.
Images
Artwork is supplied through the TMDB API. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Film and television stills remain the property of their rights holders and are used here for the purposes of news reporting and criticism. If you hold rights to an image used here and want it removed, email us and we will take it down.
How we make money
Through advertising displayed on the site. Advertisers have no involvement in what we cover or what we say. We do not accept payment for coverage and we do not run affiliate links inside editorial copy. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
